Studio Etiquette
We adhere to a serious classroom etiquette for our music and dance classes. Our director of dance and music have created etiquette guidelines that will be signed by all of our Youth students before they begin class.

Classroom viewing etiquette (for parents and siblings)
At this time, due to COVID concerns, parents are not allowed in the classroom. Please feel free to remain in the lobby during your child’s class. The space is small, but we welcome you to stay if you are comfortable. We are happy to take care of children with suffering from separation anxiety, but if you’d rather not leave them, please feel free to walk them into the studio. We prefer that you don’t pressure them to participate, but allow them to watch from the side, with you, until they are ready to join.
As soon as our public health situation allows, we will designate certain times each month for parents to come into the studio and observe their children at work. Thank you for your cooperation!
Sound & Music
All of our high quality dance studios are equipped with Bluetooth sound systems. Music is played and monitored between the 50 to 90 decibel range per our High Accuracy Decibel Meter per 1-1.5 hour class (Dance Magazine; Karageanes). Classes are not to exceed 94 decibels per 1-1.5 hour class. All youth music is also monitored for appropriate language and content by all teachers and directors.
Attendance Policy / Drop-off / Pick-up
Consistent attendance at classes is extremely important for all dancers. Students may have up to three absences per semester. After three absences, it is at your teacher’s discretion to teach missed choreography for recital and performances. Excessive absences could also result in the student losing the privilege to perform. Please notify the studio by telephone or email in advance of a class absence.*
*All COVID related absences are excused from the above policy. The health and safety of our dancers is first and foremost.
Please arrive on time for all classes, dressed in appropriate dance attire and ready to begin class warm-up exercises. Warm-up is a necessary part of dance classes that helps dancers prevent injury.
Please arrange your schedule to arrive in a timely fashion for each class. Students younger than twelve must be supervised closely by a parent at all times before and after class. Older students should be dropped off for class 5 minutes before class time. Please let us know if a student will be absent or late for class.
Students over the age of twelve should be picked up by a parent or legal guardian within 10 minutes of the end of their class. Teachers and The Studio staff members are not responsible for students before classes commence or after they have finished.
To ensure accurate contact tracing and for the safety and health of our students, we are not offering make-up classes at this time.
Recital
All Youth Recreational Classes will be required to participate in our recital on May 10, 2024.
- There will be a one time costume fee of $85, due in December 2024.
- All dancers will be required to attend the Dress Rehearsal the week of recital. Location and time TBD.
Parking
Parking at the Chase Street Warehouses is first come first serve. Parking is available in the spaces in front of the building, alongside Tracy Street, in the parking lot to the left of the building (where Frog Stomp Studio is located), and also in the gravel area near the old railroad tracks.
Accessibility
Visitors and students in wheelchairs can access The Studio via a cement ramp that connects to the sidewalk in front of the building. The lobby bathroom is wheelchair accessible.
We strive to make all of our classes and events accessible. If you need specific accommodations for a class or an event, please contact The Studio for further information.
Non Discrimination Policy
The Studio welcomes students and dancers of any race, religion (creed), gender, gender expression, or sexual orientation. We are committed to diversity and inclusion in every aspect of our programming, and to making all members of the community welcome at The Studio.
For Parents
We want parents with infants to feel welcome and supported at The Studio. We have a changing table in the lobby bathroom, and private space available for nursing if needed. You are also welcome to feed your infant in the lobby.
Nut-Free Facility
We are a nut-free facility. ALL nuts are strictly prohibited from our lobby, studios, and bathrooms. We want all of our students to be safe and happy!
