Dress Code

School of the Arts

The Studio Athens – School of the Arts has moved into “conservatory style” dress code to better unify our dancers, provide less stress for our parents, and bring a cohesive look and presentation to all of our classes. Often, dancers will purchase leotards from retailers such as Wal-Mart and Target. We have consistently had issues with these items falling part after a couple of wears and washes. While the upfront cost for the Eurotard leotard might be more, we recommend sizing up when you order your dancer’s leotard, and it will likely last for two seasons, thus saving money in the long run.

We have partnered with Eurotard Dancewear to provide a full dance dress code and store for all dancewear needs year-round. We chose Eurotard because of their color inclusive tights options and shoes for dancers of color. Having these options for for all of our dancers is important to us as a studio.

SCHOOL OF THE ARTS DRESS CODE DETAILS:

• CREATIVE MOVEMENT: See instructions below – you do NOT have to purchase a leotard from the Eurotard website.
• ALL OTHER CLASSES: The only Eurotard item you are required to purchase is the leotard. All other items on the Eurotard website are listed for your convenience. You can purchase there OR from another retailer. We suggest Discount Dancewear, Amazon, or Bloch. Preferred brands include Bloch, Capezio, abd So Danca for well-made, long-lasting dancwear.

You can view your class dress code, including any required leotards, on the Eurotard website. We have also listed your Eurotard class dress items under each class dress code description below. Please note that some leotards are required!

Creative Movement: Footless tights or leggings with leotards or tight fitting t-shirts and bare feet or ballet shoes. Hair should be secured away or in a bun if possible.
